Dos and Don’ts to Observe During the Full Moon Day

Lately, my friend has told me that the full moon has some effects on the Earth and our bodies and minds. I have decided to check that and she's right. Today you will read how to make the most of this phase.

How To Make the Most of the Full Moon

Each Moon phase has some things which are auspicious and inauspicious during that time. To make the most of a given phase, the full Moon described today, you need to avoid inauspicious activities and perform the auspicious ones.

Auspicious Activities During the Full Moon Phase

These are the activities that are beneficial for you and will help you to make the most of this Moon phase.

1. Cleanse Your Space

It is the optimal time to cleanse your space, body and mind because the Full Moon tends to mark a big build-up of energy — light and dark. By cleansing your space, and even your body, you are helping to remove or let go of excessive built-up energy. Cleanse your home, tidy your computer, and finish things that you have started and left undone. In this way, you will invest your energy productively.

2. Charge Your Crystals During Full Moon

The light from the full Moon is perfect for charging and cleansing your crystals, especially the moonstone. Expose it to the moonlight for as long as possible.

Many spiritual teachers believe that if you leave crystals under a Full Moon, they’ll release any lingering energy so that the next time you use them, they’ll be all clear.

It happens because the Moon in this phase is all about bringing our intentions, emotions, and opportunities for healing to the forefront, all so they can be healed and let go.

3. Update Your To-Do List

You have probably made one during the New Moon phase. Now is the time to check on your progress. Answer these questions:

  • Are you getting closer to your goals?

  • Did you complete the tasks that would help you to get closer?

Take a progress check before the universe does it for you, kicking you in the butt due to not pushing yourself as hard as you should. And stop worrying if some things are no longer relevant, just cross them off or modify them. When the next New Moon comes along you can make your additions.

4. Relax During Full Moon

Energy is flying high during the Full Moon phase so it is another excellent way to celebrate sitting your butt down! Relax! Observe what comes up, situations, circumstances, people, and emotions. Sometimes you do need to chill out to really see and understand what the universe is trying to tell you.

5. Dance, Sing, Do Exercises And Listen To Your Favourite Music

If you are really feeling too pent up, how about dancing? You can get dressed up and go out or just dance in your pyjamas. The point is to get in your body for a bit and just enjoy letting it loose, allowing all the energy you feel to just go. You can also add singing or doing exercises while listening to your favourite music.

6. Meditate During Full Moon

The full moon is a massive amount of energy that gives you access to some really inspiring moments of self-reflection.

If you work with the Universe during meditation, the Full Moon will be the apex of your contribution to mankind and other beings. You might find your meditations are deeper and more fulfilling around the time the Moon is at its fullness.

7. Let Go And Forgive

The Full Moon is the perfect time for simply letting go of anything that is not in alignment with your higher self. You usually do not realize what is not working for you until it is taken from your life.

It also happens when a situation comes along that forces you to look at it differently, e.g., when you lose your job. It is those realizations during a Full Moon that show you what is worth really fighting for and what’s not.

If an issue comes up that does not sit right with your heart, just let it go and let it be.

8. Have a Ritual During Full Moon

You can do a simple Full Moon ritual of smudging your home, getting every corner and crevice.

Use sage, cedar, or even lavender. You can also sage yourself or even take a salt bath to pull away any energy you have built up. I can assure you that you will definitely feel a million times lighter once you’re finished.

It is even better when you light a candle and make an angelic ritual, for example with an intention of finding your Twin Flame/Soulmate or improving your current relationship. During the Full Moon phase, you can also go out and look at the Moon, saying what you want from your life.

What To Avoid Doing During the Full Moon Phase

Unfortunately, there are also some inauspicious things during the Full Moon phase. Here are three examples of what to avoid.

1. Starting Something New

You might be tempted to immediately start something new due to so much energy pulsing from the Moon in this phase and often some pertinent information you have not had before.

The thing is you are at your most emotional at this point in the Moon phase so starting something new might not be the right thing immediately. Take some time to brainstorm, plot, and plan. Wait until the New Moon start.

2. Overreact

Rating your emotions at 100, the Full Moon is not the time for overreactions. That will only intensify whatever you are experiencing and might accidentally spark something you did not intend with another person. So, since you know, go sit in a corner until you calm down and then approach whatever you need to deal with calmly.

3. Make Spontaneous Decisions

Overreacting’s cousin, rash decision making, wants you to beware too. Try not to fixate or get overly attached to any overly emotional decisions. Give the Full Moon a few days to fully express itself before making major decisions. Especially ones you cannot take back.

In a Nutshell

The Full Moon phase definitely has an impact on our lives and it is advisable to especially do things that discharge the excessive amount of energy we have. On the other hand, rash decisions, starting new projects and arguments with other people should be avoided. With lots of love and light,
