We all know how powerful our thoughts are. However, in many cases we do not take care of the quality of our thinking, letting negativity flood our minds. Today you will learn why we need to master our thoughts and how to do it.

What Is a Thought?

According to Wikipedia, “thought encompasses an aim-free flow of ideas and associations that can lead to a reality-oriented conclusion. Although thinking is an activity of an existential value for humans, there is no consensus as to how it is defined or understood."

A thought underlies many human actions and interactions. Therefore, understanding its physical and metaphysical origins, processes, and effects has been a longstanding goal of philosophy, linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, biology, sociology, and cognitive science.

These fields of science state that thinking allows humans to make sense of, interpret, represent, or model the world they experience, and to make predictions about that world.

However, I will write about thinking from the spiritual point of view, and what kind of impact it has on our lives. Whichever approach you will take, responsible thinking is a must. Why? Here are the six reasons:

1. Thoughts Are Energy and Manifest in Life

When thoughts become creative, their magnetic power starts to attract and draw, pull and push in numerous ways the things, persons and conditions necessary to materialize your thoughts into a reality.

From the spiritual point of view, each thought brings energy and vibrates, depending on its quality. Then, according to universal laws, thoughts generate positive or negative events in our lives. Therefore, we need to master our thoughts.

2. Thoughts Undergo the Universal Laws

I will give you only some examples of how universal laws govern thinking:

The universal Law of Cause and Effect states that for every effect there is a definite cause, likewise for every cause, there is a definite effect. In other words, what you sow will reap and all you think have consequences later. Your thoughts create specific effects that manifest and create your life.

The Law of Attraction

Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract whatever we are focusing on into our lives. Therefore, thinking triggers the process of attracting events, people and opportunities in harmony with a given thought.

The Law of Focus

The Law of Focus says that "what you dwell upon, grows". The more you focus on a given thought, the more similar thoughts you will attract. If you worry and continue doing so, more worrying thoughts will come to the state that you can even become panicky.

The Law of Vibration states that everything in the Universe moves vibrates, and travels in circular patterns. The same principles of vibration in the physical world apply to our thoughts, feelings, desires, and wills in the Etheric world. Yet everything starts with thinking.

3. Thoughts Are Contagious

Because thoughts vibrate, you can infect people with your thinking. When negativity comes to your mind, suddenly you start meeting the same people, something is not working in the right way, and obstacles occur.

When you are a very self-aware person, your thoughts materialize instantly. You become a magician, a wizard who has a magic wand. One end of this wand is positive and the other negative. Each thought is the movement of your magic wand, creating either happiness or negativity.

Your thoughts are like germs - some are needed and positive, and others are harmful because they cause diseases like the flu. If you do not take responsibility for your thoughts and let the negative ones control your mind - you will be eaten by them, catching the mental flu and then even the real one.

4. Most of Your Thoughts Are Not Yours

Napoleon Hill in his book "Think and Grow Rich" described where from our thoughts come. One of the sources brings a deep reflection because it is the other person's subconscious mind that can induce a given thought. Moreover, telepathy is another way of communicating with them.

Keep your mind free from the weeds of other people's negativity. When you start feeling a negative energy, neutralize it straightaway before it kills your peace of mind and generates firstly discomfort and then numerous ranges of negative emotions.

5. You Will Control Your Mind

The first four reasons described the theory of responsible thinking. Now I will write about the two practical reasons why it is worth the trouble to be careful about your thoughts. The first reason gives you power. You will create the reality which you want consciously working on your thinking, eliminating the negative thoughts and dwelling on the positive ones.

Action Exercise

Today, whenever you notice a negative thought, neutralize it. You can say 'That's not mine, 'Go away, 'I'm turning you off. Other people visualize burning the thought with the purple laser beam or crossing it out.

6. You Will Create the Brilliant Future

Based on the reasons described before, you can create a brilliant future just by responsible thinking. Holding only positive thoughts will create vibrations attracting more of these thoughts. You have sown positivity, and you will reap positivity - opportunities and friendly, helpful people will appear, and you will find ideas on how to materialize your thoughts.

How to Master Your Thoughts

You can reach this goal in a couple of ways. Here are the most common to use:

1. Notice the Thought

Say to yourself “It’s just a thought”. When you realise this fact, this will help you to pacify any negative thoughts and cultivate positive ones. You can also start noticing your breath at that time so that it will tell you more about the thought.

2. Decide If the Thought Is Useful

Ask your body how you are feeling about a given thought. Tension and any kind of discomfort will denote negative, unhelpful thoughts while a relaxed state and positive emotions will denote positive thinking. Then, when you know what kind of thought it is, use one of the following options:

2.1. Dwell on Positive Thoughts

If you notice that the thought is useful and positive, start dwelling on it – just hold it in your mind for 17 seconds. If you want something and it is your goal or dream, visualise this thought for 69 seconds. Do it as often as possible to materialise your positive thoughts.

2.2. Pacify Negative Thought

Here is another method you can use: If the thought is negative, and especially in the case it is intrusive, ask this question:

• What is the opposite of this thought? – in this way, you will sublimate negativity into positivity

• What’s the next thought? – this question will help you to practise conscious thinking.

What to Do in Emergency Cases to master Thought?

Some thoughts are intrusive plus negative, destructive and unhelpful. Snippets and mantras are the best pacifiers there, but you can also use visualisation. Try these:

• It’s not mine, go where you came from!

• Go to the fire and become Divine Flame!

• Stop it! It’s not mine, go away!

• I am not like that anymore; my light is stronger than any darkness.

• Let all that has come to harm me come back to where it is from with Divine Light and blessing

• Visualise a bulletin board with your thoughts, take down the one that is on your mind, tear this piece of paper down, put it into the bucket and throw it to the fire, visualising how this thought is being transformed.

If you have more time, take a sea salt bath, and visualise your thoughts being engulfed by Divine Water.

In a Nutshell

Today I have presented you the six reasons why it is useful to become responsible for your thinking and how to take this responsibility. Thoughts materialize, and they undergo universal laws (like the law of cause and effect, the law of focus or vibration). You can infect and be infected by thoughts (they are contagious and mostly not yours). And the two last but not least reasons: you can control your thoughts and, therefore, create a brilliant future for yourself.
