What is Automatic Writing

In the shortest, automatic writing happens when you write without thinking. You go with the flow of your words go. It can also have doodles. Automatic writing can be used as an exercise to help you increase your creativity or improve your writing.

However, it can also be used as a practice in channelling more subconscious thoughts or communicating with other entities. It is always a great experience to transfer what is in your head to the page without inhibitions.

Moreover, you can also write in order to contact someone by telepathy or manifest your goals. (e.g., healing from cancer) The choice is yours.

You can use general and spiritual automatic writing. I will show you how to use the second type today.

Hence, you can use automatic writing to communicate with other beings, even if you will not end these pieces of writing in Space.

Also, apart from your own catharsis, automatic writing can be a great opportunity to heal relationships, providing that you have the courage to share the content with those whom you want to forgive.

How To Practise Spiritual Automatic Writing

You will find the ten useful steps of automatic writing below. Follow them in the right order and you will see how your spiritual life will improve shortly since you started using this technique.

1. Find a Quiet Place

You will need a comfortable place, where you won't be interrupted to use automatic writing in a more spiritual way. Otherwise, it will not be effective and interruptions will make you angry, which is undesirable during automatic writing.

There is no required time within which you need to practise this technique. Start from about ten minutes and then write if you need to in one go.

2. Decide on the Topic

Before you start writing, choose the writing method. I recommend manual writing because then you involve all your senses and your subconscious mind. You can easily doodle, underline your writing and cross something.

Also, in case you do not have a computer with you, writing on paper can be done everywhere. You can try both ways at the beginning, but eventually, handwriting will be your preferred way.

3. Clear Your Mind

Do your best to clear your mind of all thoughts. For example, there might be thoughts about things you have to do later in the day, things you are worried about, etc.

In the case when you are permanently stressed, angry or upset, you might need to put your session off for another time. However, I would suggest trying even then.

In the case of anger, doodle something on a piece of paper, you can also list the things you are angry with. If you worry or are anxious, use this affirmation first:

I AM DISSOLVING MY WORRIES/FEARS IN THE DIVINE LIGHT

You can also take a few deep breaths, focusing on the air going in and out of your nostrils and your feelings about the process. Inhaling and exhaling energy can also be useful.

Just visualise that with each inhalation, you suck the positive energy, full of light and happiness.

On the contrary, each of your exhalations removes negativity of any kind from your mind, body, and soul - worries, stress, anger and all that does not serve you.

If you cannot visualise, say the following words

I am inhaling the Light, peace, harmony and health and exhaling anger, worry, anxiety (and anything bothering you right now)

4. Call On the Entity

This might be “spirit guides”, “angels”, or your "higher self”, You can ask your spiritual guardian for help so that your automatic writing will be effective and helpful.

Ask your spiritual guardians for protection so that your automatic writing will be safe and inspiring. You can even practise a 30-second meditation to be more inspired.

5. Close Your Eyes

Some schools of automatic writing recommend closing eyes to allow one's mind to communicate more directly with their hand. You can practise it for a while, also visualising that the helping beings come to you with their help.

However, I do not recommend writing with closed eyes, unless you only intend to doodle and not use any specific language. You can try writing with closed eyes for a while to see how it works.

6. Put Your Pen to The Paper And Start Writing

In the case of using a computer, put your hands on the keyboard as though you were about to type something. If you use a notebook, open it on a new page and start writing with a pen or ballpen. Choose your favourite colour. Type, write or draw whatever comes into your mind. If you are using paper, this may mean drawing symbols or doodles.

You can also start the writing session by writing a question to focus on a particular issue. After having written down a question, brainstorm answers, letting your hands work freely.

Only you will be able to know when an automatic writing session is over. Keep writing for as long as it feels comfortable, and stop if/when it begins to feel negative or uncomfortable. Hence, I do not recommend setting up a timer in the case of automatic writing.

7. Take a Deep Breath

Once you have finished, take a deep breath to exhale all the tension. It is useful in cases of releasing negativity during your writing.

Sometimes you might want to do more than one session of automatic writing. If the first lasts around 50 minutes, do 10 minutes break, stretching, breathing deeply and be proud of what you have written.

8. Look at Your Writing

At this point, you can see what has come out on the page/screen. Hopefully, you find something that makes sense for you. If not, try not to worry. Put it away for the day and try again tomorrow. This is a skill that takes a lot of practice.

If you do automatic writing in order to release negativity, I do not recommend paying too much attention to your words just after you have finished because then you focus back on what has already been dissolved into the Light.

9. Keep or Destroy Your Writing

Again, if you want to release negative emotions or thoughts, it is usually not to read the writing after the session. If you use a computer or lose/tearable pieces of paper, just destroy them.

Nut if you create your future, and write some solutions to your problems, then coming back to your writing will be beneficial. Check your writing the next day, in particular when you want to continue the same topic.

10. Thank Your Helpers For Writing

Do not forget to thank your spiritual guardians. You can say a short prayer or even write down some gratitude words.

In a Nutshell

Today you have learnt how to practise automatic writing from the spiritual point of view. Good luck with working with your emotions, and thoughts, but also with creating a brilliant future. With lots of love and light,
