What Are Addictions

Addiction is a brain disorder characterized by compulsive engagement in rewarding stimuli despite adverse consequences. Despite the involvement of several psychosocial factors, a biological process (i.e., one which is induced by repeated exposure to an addictive stimulus) is the core pathology that drives the development and maintenance of an addiction. The two properties that characterize all addictive stimuli are that they are reinforcing (i.e., they increase the likelihood that a person will seek repeated exposure to them) and intrinsically rewarding (i.e., they are perceived as being inherently positive, desirable, and pleasurable). - Wikipedia

Addictions From a Spiritual Point of View

From a spiritual point of view, addictions are not just unhealthy brain functioning. We are something more than just the physical body. It is only one of the five ethereal fields. Hence, the immaterial aspect is also important here.

Firstly, thoughts. They can be described by science and medicine, but now everyone knows about their quantum effect on everything. More about quantum thoughts soon on my blog.

Secondly, energetic hooks.

They can attach not only to your body like new nerve connections. they are like cords, connecting chakras or etheric bodies of two beings.

Traditional Ways to Stop Addictions

Below I will shortly describe some of the most common ways of handling addictions. In some cases, they are combined, e.g., counselling with medication.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is one component of the ancient practice of yoga, called the yoga of postures, where people hold positions for varying lengths of time. They stretch and contract their muscles and breathe deeply.

This kind of yoga stimulates the relaxing effects of the parasympathetic nervous system which removes tension from all the major muscle groups and decreases stress, one of the most important reasons for getting addicted.

Massage

I do not mean massaging an addiction away here. However, the power of this massage therapy is being tested on people dealing with anorexia, bulimia, smoking, and other addictions, with impressive results.

Again, as in the case of hatha yoga, lower stress levels diminished the risk of being addicted or returning to addictions.

Acupuncture

Like much of traditional Chinese medicine, the idea of acupuncture is based on the theory that networks of energy flow, called chi. This energy goes through the body along natural pathways.

The Chinese reckon that disease grows when that energy is out of balance or blocked. Acupuncturists stimulate the body's flow of energy, restoring balance, by inserting needles at precise positions along the meridians, i.e., energy pathways.

Nutrition

Proper nutrition and taking supplements are essential for avoiding addictions. The brain manufactures chemicals that increase energy and boost mood, for example, serotonin, and endorphins, which are the brain's natural opiates. hence, you do not need other stimulants to feel happy and energised.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis helps treat addictions. According to Michael Yapko, PhD, a psychologist with a speciality in hypnosis, this technique ceases depression and anxiety associated with withdrawal symptoms. Hypnosis aids people with addictions because of its ability to facilitate a heightened state of consciousness.

Homoeopathy

A homoeopath considers a person's mental, emotional, and physical symptoms. Homoeopathy is very efficient in treating drug addiction. The substances used in such cases include tuberculum, Argentum, nitric, and Arsenicum. These substances help to express and dispel symptoms and regain balance.

Medical Treatment

The most severe cases of addictions indeed require medication at first. However, even the best medication will not solve the problem if the individual is still around people who can tempt them. Without adding a spiritual aspect to healing, medical treatment is like taking a headache pill without treating the illness itself.

Counselling

Again, at first, when you start working on your addictive behaviour, counselling may be beneficial, but later you need to rely on spiritual methods for eradicating your addiction, just because calling without commitment will not work.

Spiritual Eradication of Addictions

Since addictions are the symptoms of being connected to energetic hooks, you need to deal with these entities first. I have already written an article about dealing with energetic hooks.

1. Recognise Your Addictions

You probably have heard about the 12-step formula, used during AA meetings. Accepting and publicly saying that you have a problem, without suppressing the truth is the first step. Face the truth that you have lost control over your addiction. It is not a disaster; it is the starting point on the way to full health.

2. Commit to Change

Take responsibility for your life and decide to change. It means commitment and serious treatment of your attitude and action taken, otherwise, no method or therapy will work, even the conventional and holistic ones.

3. Remove Energetic Hooks

As I wrote above, addictions are caused by energetic hooks, attached to one or more of your subtle bodies. Remove them by using the white Divine Light or spiritual scissors, you can ask Archangel Michael for help. Also, do not let energy leaks weaken your aura, free will and self-discipline.

4. Raise Your Vibrations

How to raise vibrations? Stop spreading negative words, watch your thoughts and eat high-vibrational food. Remember to raise not only your vibrations but also those of your space, e.g. your house.

Act any time you recognise worry or intrusive thoughts, someone tells you about your addiction or you are at the place where you can give in a temptation.

5. Watch Your Thoughts

Thoughts manifest and nowadays this process accelerated. Therefore, whenever you notice a negative thought, put it in the bin and burn it with the Divine Light. Do it with every negative thought. Sometimes you might need more tailored help in the case of struggling with addictive thoughts.

6. Ask God For help

You are never alone. God is always here to help you, together with other helpful Beings of Light. Send them a prayer, giving your addiction away to the Light.

God, take care of your child who needs your help. Please, take away my addiction, help me to remove the energetic hooks attached to my aura and give me the strength to live addiction-free. Let it be.

7. Stop Using Addictive Substances

The key to stopping addictions is never using the addictive substances again. In the case of temptation, recall all the evil your addiction caused in the past. You can also train your mind, saying whenever you are tempted:

IT DOES NOT SERVE, IT IS HARMFUL.

8. Find Support

And I do not mean counselling or mental health professionals. You'd rather seek the same-minded people, I mean those who have high vibrations and avoid or cut contact with those who increase your temptation to reach the addictive substance again.
